If your flight is delayed

Flight delays may occur due to various reasons: bad weather conditions in the origin or the destination airport, aircraft failure, consequences of the precedent flight schedule interruptions, etc.

If the flight delay is about to hamper the personal plans, we recommend to address the airline representative to get the information on the expected time of departure and, based on this, make the decision to expect, or to cancel and re-book the flight. In any circumstances, the airline must use its best efforts to ensure the transportation of the passenger to the destination as soon as possible.

Airline liability on flight delays

According to the Federal aviation rules (FAR) "General rules of passenger, baggage, and cargo tranmsportation", effective in Russia since 20 October 2007, the airline is liable to the passengers for flight delays due to any reasons.

If the flight is delayed for more than 2 hours due to any reasons (including weather conditions), the passengers must be served beverages, and provided the opportunity to make 2 phone calls, or send 2 email messages. On more than 4-hour delays, the passengers must be served hot meals. Longer than 8 hours delays in the day and 6 hours in the night incur the airline’s obligation to provide hotel accommodation to the passengers.

All the above-mentioned services must be provided free of charge
